PRICING
Your investment:
Square inch price + batting + optional services = total $.
Square Inch Rate
Featured edge to edge designs are 2.5 cents per square inch.
All other edge to edge designs are 3 cents per square inch.
Example:
A 60 inch x 60 inch quilt top = 3600 inches.
3600 x .03 = $108.
The minimum quilting charge is $40. This means that a small quilt or table runner's square inch price will be rounded up to the $40 minimum.
Batting
Batting is priced in addition to the edge to edge square inch price.
I use and stock batting from Quilters Dream and some from Hobbs Bonded Fibers. I carry 80/20 cotton/poly blend, 100% cotton, bamboo blend, 100% poly. Other specialty batting can be ordered upon request.
Batting is charged by the linear inch from queen rolls of batting (except in the case of special orders). I will use only what is needed for your quilt (smallest side + a 5" margin) and charge per inch. Quilts that measure larger than 96" (w/ 5" margin) will be charged for a king size batting package.
For example, if you have a 60" x 80" quilt, I will cut 65" of the batting of your choice.
65" of bamboo blend (silk, bamboo, cotton & tencel) @ $0.40/in = $26.00
65" of 100% cotton deluxe loft @ $0.40/in = $26.00
65" of 80/20 cotton/poly blend @ $0.33/in = $21.45
65" of 100% poly @ $0.26/in = $16.90
Thread
Thread is included in your square inch price.
I stock YLI Elite (#40) and Superior So Fine! (#50) threads.
Elite stitches with a gorgeous reflective sheen.
So Fine! stitches with a beautiful matte finish.
I'll aim to blend thread color with the lighter areas of your quilt if you have no preference.
Let me know your thoughts on thread when you book your quilt!
Optional Services
Photos of your quilt:
I take photos of each quilt's transformation on the longarm. I will provide you with digital copies so you can showcase your work. I just ask that you credit me for the photo and quilting if posting publicly. There is no charge for quilt photos.
Digital pantograph designs:
If you would like to use a digital pantograph that I do not have, I'm happy to purchase it for use on your quilt. I will add 50% of the pantograph price to your invoice. I will cover the remaining cost.
Preparation fees:
Additional fees may apply if work is required to address under-sized quilt backings, open quilt top seams, major stray thread trimming, etc. I will contact you to address these needs prior to beginning work.
Shipping:
If you choose to have your quilt returned by mail, the shipping cost will be added to your invoice.
NH pick up/drop off:
Open Road Quilt Co. is on the road! We will pick up your quilt and/or return your quilt to you at one of our quilt pit stops across N.H., if you'd like. Explore this option when you book your quilt. The service charge will be added to your invoice.
Shipping
Open Road Quilt Co. is based in New Hampshire, USA. Once you've booked your quilt and accepted the quote, if you choose to ship, I recommend enclosing your quilt top and backing in a bag to protect from moisture during transit and then placing the bag in a hard-sided carboard box. Be sure to securely seal and clearly label your package.
Return shipping: I will send your quilt back to you in the manner described above via USPS Priority mail (using flat rate when possible/economical). Priority mail comes with $100 of insurance and a tracking number. If you would like additional insurance purchased on your behalf, please let me know.
Other Costs
The state of New Hampshire does not have sales tax.
Where/when required, sales tax will be added to your invoice.
